• Economic activity grew 9.1% year-over-year in November, according to national statistics institute INDEC, above
our expectations of 8.2%. In seasonally adjusted terms, the economy expanded 0.9% month-on-month, up from
0.8% in October. Given our 8.0–9.0% expectation for December 2005, GDP growth may close the year at 9.1%.
Notably, this would be the fastest rate of growth of the recovery, despite that it has entered its fourth year. In fact,
2005 was the only year in which the economy grew every month in seasonally adjusted terms. The expansion is likely
to continue into 2006, according to the University Di Tella’s consumer confidence index, which again grew in January.
